How is someone admitted to The Masonic Care Community?

Our admissions team works with your physician and care team, including hospital staff, to determine your skilled nursing needs. Once those needs are determined, our team will work on options that are appropriate.

How do residents get to doctor’s appointments?

The Masonic Care Community has a full-time medical staff that includes three board certified physicians. Transportation is provided and a personal care aide can accompany residents to any off site specialist as needed.

How much will care cost?

What happens if a higher level of care is needed?

As needs change, our staff will conduct an evaluation to determine the level of care needed. Assistance is provided if a new placement is needed.

How independent can residents be in adult care?

Wiley Hall allows you to be as independent as you want. If assistance is needed our staff will provide help with medications, daily care such as dressing and bathing, and housekeeping. Wiley Hall is also equipped with a secure care system for individuals who may wander.

Can residents cook their own meals?

All meals are provided by our kitchen and wait staff. If residents would like to make a snack in between meal times, microwaves and refrigerators are available in the lounges on reach resident floor for use.

Frequently Asked Questions about Acacia Home Care

How do I pay for home care?

Acacia Home Care will obtain your insurance information and contact your insurance company for you. The staff at Acacia Home Care will obtain personalized preauthorization for you. Medicare will only pay for occasional or intermittent home health care, but not for around-the-clock home health care.

You will sign consents for Acacia Home Care to provide services and will know any copays or costs up front. We also have services that you will have the option to pay privately for such as Home Health Aid services.

How do I qualify for Home Health Care?

You must be homebound. The condition of these patients should be such that there is an inability to leave the home and leaving the home would require a considerable and taxing effort.

Is my physician still in charge of my care when I am on Home Health Services?

You will continue to use your primary physician. They will assist you in forming a plan to reach your healthcare goals.

 

Frequently Asked Questions about Child Care

Who is the Child Care Center Licensed through?

The MCC Child Care Center is licensed through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, (OCFS).

Who can attend the Masonic Care Community Child Care Center?

The MCC Child Care Center is open to all children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. You do not have to have an affiliation with MCC or the Masonic Fraternity.

Is there an extra cost for meals if my child is on a special diet for medical or religious reasons?

There is no extra cost for meals; all meals are included in tuition rate. If the child is on a special diet you will need to provide a medical note stating the exact diet required and what procedures to follow. If a food product needs a substitution it is the parent’s responsibility to provide it.

Can the MCC Child Care Center administer medication?

The center is licensed to administer medications to children who are taking a controlled substance or emergency medications for an on-going medical condition that would require emergency treatment, as authorized by the child’s physician. ONLY staff who are MAT certified may administer medication. We do not administer over-the-counter medication.
