POSITION: DIRECTOR OF NURSING
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Nursing is a member of the Senior Management Team and is accountablefor the environment of care and practice; the relationships within Nursing and between Nursing and many healthcare disciplines; the management systems to ensure organized and efficient care processes; the resources necessary for the nursing and broader components of resident care; and the competencies necessary to provide care appropriate to resident, family and community requirements for care. This is accomplished through the development, implementation and achievement of annual goals and objectives as established in the operating plan, insuring compliance with various operating policies and procedures and other regulatory requirements; communicating and interfacing with other departments and management personnel; supervising assigned personnel; providing periodic reports; and organizing, managing, monitoring and evaluating the operations in Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. degree from accredited school of nursing; M.S. preferred. Excellent communication skills; 7-10 years skilled nursing experience; 5 years minimum supervisory experience.
