What happens when mom or dad will need a higher level of care and assistance?
An evaluation will be done to determine a higher level of care needed, assistance will be provided for placement.
Mom or dad just cannot walk the distance to the dining room. Can they use a wheelchair?
Yes they may use a wheelchair. However they will need to use the wheelchair without assistance, if they will reside on an upper floor, they must be able to use stairs.
Can we cook in our rooms?
Cookinig appliances are not allowed in rooms.
All meals are provided by our kitchen and served by our wait staff in the large central dining room.
May we continue to do our own medications?
Yes, as long as your physician certifies that it is safe to do so. We do provide assistance with medications by our personal care aides.
Can someone help mom with her bath?
Yes, we can provide assistance with all aspects of her daily care, including bathing and dressing.
Do you provide dementia care?
Yes, as long as mom or dad can function at this level of care, dementia alone will not prevent them from residing in Wiley Hall. We do provide specialized activity programs for our dementia residents. Wiley Hall is also equipped with the Secure Care System for our residents that may wander.
How will my mother get to the doctor?
The Masonic Care Community has a medical staff on campus. If mom or dad needs to see a specialist, transportation will be provided and an aide will accompany them as needed.
Does mom have to do her own housekeeping?
No, housekeeping and laundry services are provided.
Can we bring any furniture from home?
Yes, we encourage family members to bring furniture that they feel will make the room comfortable and familiar to the resident.
