Speech/Language/Swallowing Therapy
Speech-Language Pathologists identify, evaluate and treat a wide range of speech, language and swallowing disorders resulting from a variety of diagnoses such as Parkinson’s Disease, laryngectomy, stroke, head injury, memory impairments, voice disfunctions, dysphagia and stuttering to name a few.
Treatment goals in Speech/Language/Swallowing Therapy can target improved verbal/written expression, auditory/reading comprehension, memory, voice, fluency and the ability to improve swallowing. The Speech Pathologist works with the patient, care team and family members to prevent impairments, to target meaningful goals to improve function and maintain skills taught during therapy.

Audiology
Audiology services are also available at the Masonic Care Community. We look at hearing, balance and related disorders.
Hearing tests are administered to determine if an individual is hearing in a normal range or to what degree hearing may be affected. Our staff then work to treat hearing loss, and proactively prevent further damage.
