Who Operates Acacia Village?

Acacia Village is operated by the Trustees of the Masonic Hall and Home who also operate the Masonic Care Community. Both the Masonic Care Community and Acacia Village operate as non-profit corporations.

Who can be a resident of Acacia Village?

Acacia Village is open to all individuals at least 62 years old who meet the financial and medical criteria of the application process. Acacia Village does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, gender, religious affiliation or handicap.

Is there an entrance fee?

No. Acacia Village is a rental retirement community which means you pay a monthly fee based on the size of the apartment occupied. Your monthly fee includes the evening meal, twice monthly light housekeeping, maintenance of building and appliances, grounds keeping, 24-hour security, emergency call system, scheduled transportation to shopping, parking, and all utilities except telephone and cable television.

Is medical care available?

Acacia Village residents are encouraged to continue using their own physician or locate a new physician in the Utica area. The Utica area has three hospitals as well as numerous medical specialty services available. If long-term nursing care is needed, residents have access to the Masonic Care Community on a fee for service basis.

Are family and friends permitted to visit?

Yes, this is your home. You are welcome to have family and other guests visit or attend special activities or events at the Village. A private dining room is available on a reservation basis for family dinners and special celebrations. For your convenience and safety, we ask that you register overnight guests at the main desk in the Village Commons. Guest meals can be provided at a nominal charge; advance notice is required.
