Welcome to historic Masonic Hall, located in the heart of the Chelsea. There are two buildings that make up Masonic Hall, the 23rd Street Building is largely commercial and the 24th Street building is largely Masonic space, both are operated by the Trustees of the Masonic Hall and Home. Masonic Hall is home to the headquarters of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York and as well as the Chancellor Robert R. Livingston Library and Museum.
We have almost 80 different Masonic Lodges, Eastern Star Chapters and Concordant Bodies that meet in our twelve Lodge rooms. Each of these Lodge rooms has its own unique architectural style. Some rooms are adorned with different styles of columns while others feature murals that have been painstakingly restored to their original splendor. The crown jewel of Masonic Hall is the 1,100 seat theater space, The Grand Lodge Room. This fabled space is adorned with 54,000 sheets of Dutch metal gold leaf, fine brush work and Tiffany style stained glass windows. All of Masonic Hall’s Lodge Rooms are available for weddings, launch parties, business seminars, trade shows and small concerts.
Masonic Hall is located at 71 West 23rd Street at the corner of 6th Avenue. We are open for general tours, Monday through Friday – 10:30am-2:15pm. The tour guide office can be reached at 212-337-6602.
